Buzzard’s Roost began in 2019 when co-founders Judy Hollis Jones and Jason Brauner connected during a barrel pick and decided to build a bourbon brand centered on innovation in maturation and blending. From the start, the company focused on developing proprietary barrels for a second aging phase, working closely with a cooperage partner to fine-tune seasoning time, char level, and toast profiles. In the years that followed, Buzzard’s Roost grew from an independent blender and bottler into a widely distributed whiskey brand, while also deepening its Louisville roots by opening the Buzzard’s Roost Whiskey Row Experience in 2023 at 624 W Main Street.
